August 2019 training at the Centre for French Teaching and Documentation (CFTD) [fr]
That is to say, the Embassy supported Kenyatta University (KU) in the establishment of a training centre: the Centre for French Teaching and Documentation (CFTD). The first training session took place in August 2018. The centre was officially inaugurated by the Head of Cultural Affairs in Kenya, Mr. M. Cyril Gérardon, on 24 April 2019. The CFTD once again organized a capacity building workshop for high school FLE teachers, which took place from 19 to 23 August at the CFTD of Kenyatta University (KU). This centre aims to train more than 150 primary and secondary school teachers per year.
The valuable collaboration of the Kenya Association of Teachers of French (KATF) made it possible to popularize and communicate this training, and the association played a major role in mobilizing the participants. More than 50 teachers passionately participated in this session. A glance at the evaluation sheets reveals positive feedback from them. Congratulations to the six trainers who did a very good job, and to the local teams who made it possible!
