The slave routes is a documentary co-directed by Daniel Cattier, Juan Gélas and Fanny Glissant with Catherine Coquery-Vidrotich, Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris-Diderot, as historical advisor.
The documentary explores the mechanisms of the slave trade and slavery from the 5th to the 19th century throughout the African continent combining a variety of historical and scientific resources. The scientific points of view enlighten an effective anarrtive, served by a stylish visual presentation that reveals witnesses from different eras.
The "Slave Routes" focuses on the consequences of this history on contemporary societies and is firmy rooted in the present.
