Visit to Kenya by Minister Matthias Fekl
Mr. Matthias Fekl, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of France, was in Nairobi for a one day visit on June 10th 2015.
Upon arrival in Kenya, he started his day by inaugurating a digital radio network system at the KWS headquarters whose aim is to protect wildlife as well as KWS staff and tourists. This project was funded by France and implemented by Ellipse Projects.
Later on in the day, Mr. Fekl met H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta at state House Nairobi, where he led a delegation of top 50 executives from different French firms who have been in Nairobi from 7-10 June 2015, for a series of meetings and pitching sessions organized by Business France (the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, responsible for fostering export growth by French businesses, as well as promoting and facilitating international investment in France) in search of investment opportunities.
It is also at State House that three MOU’s were signed.
In the afternoon, the minister visited the premises of Schneider Electric, a French company based in Nairobi.
A courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of Moi University followed thereafter where the Minister reiterated the support of the French govt towards the students who were victims of the infamous attack on Garissa University College, a constituent college of Moi University.
