Handover of a Quality Certification in French as a Foreign Language to 5 schools of FLAAP network [fr]

The French Embassy in Kenya had the pleasure to handover a Quality Certification in French as a Foreign Language to 5 schools part of the French Language As A Priority (FLAAP) network. Those schools, with two to three French teachers, excel at promoting French language, with DELF/DALF certifications for teachers and students, a strong participation to the network activities and regular events (French Day, visits of Alliances Françaises, promotion of further studies in France, etc.).

This private school with a social mission, settled in an impressive campus in Thika which welcomes 400 pupils, joined FLAAP network in 2020. Thanks to a dedicated team of three French teachers – Alex Ang’undo, Norah Lwegado, Jackie Malaba, 170 pupils have chosen to learn French. We warmly thank Mr. Alan Adlington-Corfield, Executive Head of School, for his welcome.

The beautiful ceremony gathered hundreds of French learners and the three French teachers of this national public school, Julius Njuguna, Kizito Leonard and Calvin Musyoki. We warmly thank the Director, Mr. Josphat Mwaura, for his welcome. Former “pilot school” partnering with the French Embassy, Shree Swaminarayan trains around 750 pupils, with half of them learning French. We congratulate the two French teachers Janet Bosire and Richard Muema on their commitment and warmly thank the Principal Mrs. Anu Lazar for her welcome.
