Olympic and Paralympic Games: from Tokyo to Paris 2024 [fr]
The closing ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was held on 8 August. France is thus now officially the host country of the next Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
This XXXIII Olympiad will be held in Paris in July and August 2024, where the entire world can savour a festival of sport. There will be 15,000 athletes from around the world, 50,000 volunteers, 13 million tickets on sale to attend competitions, 4 billion TV viewers...
“France is actively preparing to welcome the world for the Olympics in three years’ time, and the entire Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is fully involved in preparations. It is an exciting adventure in which I am proud to take part with all actors from the French sports movement!”
Laurence Fischer, Sports Ambassador
With the "Terre de Jeux 2024" being extended to the entire diplomatic network, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs will be fully involved in the initiatives and programmes of the Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This label will:
- spread the vision of Paris 2024 throughout the world and involve as many French people abroad as possible, but also French-speakers and Francophiles, in the project and vision of Paris 2024.
- enable the Paris 2024 Games to enhance France’s economic and cultural attractiveness and outreach, which was one of the ambitions of the “France 2024” legacy plan.
